Welcome to PERTH!

Welcome to Perth City - the Capital of Western Australia.

Perth's superb position on the banks of the Swan River (Derbarl Yerrigan) and nearby hectares of natural bushland in Kings Park make for a city centred on the great outdoors and perfect for sightseeing.

Kaya. This is Wadjuk Boojar, where the sun always shines, and our nightlight is on to welcome you. The spirit of the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) is at the heart of everything we love. Ferries and sailboats start and end their journeys at stunning quays and jetties with restaurants and alfresco dining set against its iconic backdrop.

A pretty city with an infectious personality. A beacon of youth and vitality. With edgy street murals, lively laneways, bridge climbs and rooftop bars, museums and galleries, family attractions and a melting-pot metropolis of food, music and culture, you won’t be short on things to do during the WAMED Festival!

Getting Here

Our new Train Line! Did you know that Perth has opened a new train line to the airport!?
I know! Welcome to the 90s here in WA!
With new stations open at High Wycombe, Airport Central and Redcliffe, the Airport Line connects through to the Perth CBD and it also makes it easier, quicker and less expensive to get to and from the airport.

For those on Qantas and Jetstar flights (Terminals 3&4) - you'll access the Redcliffe Station, Just 15 minutes from the CBD and for those on Virgin (Terminals 1&2), you'll board at the Airport Central Station - which is just 18 minutes from the CBD and an easy connection through to every other line in Perth. You can purchase cash tickets from the machine on the platform, or buy a SmartRider for easy tap-and-go travel.

Taxis/Uber/Didi/Ola: A car trip between Perth city centre and Perth domestic or international airport terminals will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the day and time of day you are travelling. The airports have a number of taxi ranks and rideshare pickup points, just check the relevant app for information. Use our Facebook group to find fellow dancers needing a lift and share!

Public Transport: To plan your journey, visit the Transperth website or phone the Transperth Infoline on 13 62 13. Trains depart every 10-15 minutes Mon-Sat, and every 30 minutes on Sundays.
