WAMED Festival 4 - 7 June 2010 --Celebrating Dance & Community--

WAMED FESTIVAL 2010 - THANK YOU!

We laughed, we ranted and raved and lost the plot, but above all, we had a ball.  Another Festival is over but we hope that the community spirit that you have all created will live on throughout the year.  The support that is given to and by the instructors, the performers, the participants and the organisers demonstrates how special the event is.  To simply say thank you to everyone is hardly enough to express how proud we are to be involved in the festival and to know so many wonderful people.

To all the wonderful people who gave their time, talent and support to the Enter the Dream welcome event, Reflections concert, Raks Cafe and the Grande Bazaar, we thank you for your generosity, dedication and simply for being there.  The backstage camaraderie from both performers and the show crew created fantastic energy for all these events.  Your talent and hard work leading up to the Festival, and the professionalism, friendliness and cooperation you have shown backstage and in the dressing rooms are very much appreciated.

Thank you to all of you who supported the workshops.  We hope that you have gone home with many new inspirations to further your dance journey.  Our guest instructors have all said how impressed they are with our dance community and what a pleasure it is to share their knowledge with dancers who take their dance seriously and are eager to learn while still remaining light-hearted, warm and friendly.

WAMED 2011 is less than 12 months away and we have already started our planning.  While we don't have a catchy title yet, we do plan to create interesting workshops and performances that will provide you with an opportunity to work closer with our local musicians.  We encourage you to share any ideas and thoughts you may have for next year, but be quick as there is much to arrange.

Don't forget our special guests for 2011 will be Leyla Jouvana & Roland from Germany.  This dynamic couple are sought after all over Europe and beyond, so check out their website
http://www.leyla-jouvana.de/ for a bit of background info on them.  We are really looking forward to meeting them and having them share their experiences with us.
